Hi, Beautiful One,
I have been afforded expansion in my life. Areas that seemed stagnant now are gushing with potential, but we all know what that comes with. One of my favorite sayings lately is, "That sounds great on paper." Because things always sound great in their infancy. Remember, dreams and visions are free. It is the journey that costs you, and it extracts from your life. Well, that's if you choose to commit to it.
I'll say this quite a bit: you make space for what's important to you. When was the last time you took inventory? Everyone has their vices. Everyone has the thing they think they can't live without, but there's a life you want that requires payment. The test of how bad you want this is how eager you are to pay the cost. What will you make room for?
We make room for trivial stuff but want a lifestyle requiring us to maneuver through it. Do you think your favorite baker gained the skills to be your favorite by sitting around? If there is one lesson I have learned in this quest: adjust. Your head must be on a swivel because life is happening all around us. It is unpredictable. It is inevitable. But that doesn't mean you can't master the new hill you must climb. What do you do when life grants you what you want? You make room for it to exist and thrive. Here's how:
Accept Where You Are
Opportunity is everywhere, but I forget about the progress I've made to allow it in. You have done the work. Now, God is giving you your desire. Look at where you came from. Look at where you are. Those are two different places in life.
Get Ready For The Work
Again, everything sounds great on paper, but the process is coming. Get yourself ready to expand everything you're doing a bit more. It won't change everything in your routine. But, it will require a change in who you are.
Let Go Of What Was
I get it. You have spent months building this lifestyle. It works. But it was never meant to be the end all be all. Remember: change is inevitable, and growth is a choice. You chose to fight for your dreams. Sometimes, that means letting go of the things you're comfortable with.
On the road to building you, the work doesn't stop. The adjustments take more thought. The breaks get shorter. But the reward, the reward grows too. We make space for what's important to us. So, ask yourself, which is more important: the moment or the lifestyle?
I love you,
G.E.M. Stone
