Hi, Beautiful One,
So much has happened in the last few months. I keep hearing the word: "foundation" deep within myself. My focus has been on being the best version of myself. The journey has been painful and fulfilling. I remember times when I took ten steps forward and twenty back. I remember thinking I would never achieve the visions I could see. It all came down to my lack of foundation and my complacency. Have you ever had a dream for life? One that eats away at you day in and day out? Is it one with layers of legacy wrapped in every passion you have? Does this dream make your current life seem bland? Yeah, I get that.
I understand too well what it is like going through my days only seeing scales of dullness and grey but imagining a life bursting with color. I am a "big picture" person who could care less about the pieces. I couldn't care less about the steps because I break everything down into a method. I've said this before: there is a method to my madness. I've spent a lot of time recovering from the carelessness of last year. I have finally caught myself up. What's next?
What do you do when you have built a firm foundation in your life? What do you do when you start winning? I am accustomed to losing but winning is new. All of the work tells a story. I usually ignore it to get to the final result. What happens when the result isn't your focus anymore? What happens when you're excited for the journey? Here's what you need to know:
Keep Building
The fun part about your foundation is the tweaking. It's cool to look at what I've learned to do well and see what else I can pack on. Challenges don't stress me out. Challenges encourage me to push through.
Romanticize Each Step
Take a second to look at yourself. Do you remember who you were before all of this progress? I would never do half of what I do now for myself. It's incredible! Take a step back in awe of who you are now. You have come so far!
Rest When You Can
You have built the foundation. Now, you must continue to build on top of that. There's a lot to consider. It can be overwhelming. So, prioritize your rest. Whether it's mental, emotional, physical, whatever it may be. Be sure to take the time you need for your energy levels to replenish so you can continue the great work you have been doing.
There's so much more to your story. Let me say that again. There is so much more to your story. You are the main character. You are the hero. You will fail and then succeed. You will fall and then get back up. But do me a favor from now on when you do. Smile on the way down and laugh on the way up. Cry when it's necessary. Yell when you can't take it anymore because the pages are yours to write. The journey will cost you, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.
I love you,
G.E.M. Stone
