Hi, Beautiful One,
“If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” It is easy to get caught up in the possibilities when they are endless. You build a routine, that routine becomes a habit, and the results vary. The results lead to excitement or disgust. Why? Because nothing we do is done to perfection. The end of whatever road we choose never ends where we decide. When it does, it creates the illusion that we are in control until we reach our destination to find what lies before us is better than what we expected or requires more challenging steps.
Chasing one’s dream is a wonderous thought, but what is it based on? Is it your desire to break free from a miserable life? Is it the string of bad relationships? Money? What are we doing when we chase after things? Acquiring more isn’t free. It costs something. There’s this belief that attaining financial freedom doubles our earnings. It may serve as a relief for your way of life, but it still comes at a cost. What it costs you is the issue here.
While you are building towards the dream, are you letting go of anything? There’s a shift that should happen when trying to achieve. One could say you realize this isn’t about acquiring but giving. Look at all of the figures you admire. Have they provided relief to others as they obtained their wealth? Or did they use their increase to facilitate their vanity? The question is, what are you building?
Has this dream changed you?
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the end. The end is that future where none of your problems exist. We’re so consumed by the destination we ignore the journey. Yes, we can achieve, but the achievement is who you become on your way. This progression towards whatever you’re chasing should be actively changing you. While it changes you, it changes your outlook on what you’re after. Therein lies the question.
Was this ever about your desire?
Without the vision, people perish, but was the vision there to get you off of your butt? Was it there to help you unlearn all of the bad habits? The growth you experience along the way will create more than the ideal of the vision could. Is that the point? Can one go from useless to resourceful all because of desire? Is the allure of success actively creating a version of you that takes losses as redirection instead of defeat?
Will you give or acquire?
A changed perspective means changed actions. What was important suddenly becomes minuscule because the ideals are no longer ideal. Will you give more of yourself to enhance the lives of those around thus achieving a level of success that brings light to every room? Or will you become enthralled by the acquisition of “more”? If your gifts will bring you before great men, how will you use them?
Every step you take is the striking of the hammer. You get to choose whether the nails are what you should let go or the people who needed you. You can build your house on the backs of those whose deliverance you carry. Or you can create a path for others to follow on your way up. There is power in how we build. Our architect is the one we grant access to in our hearts, minds, spirits, and souls. It depends on what or who we choose. Choose wisely.
